What enables the digitalisation of a substation? What measures, sensors, communications protocol are to be implemented? And what must be prioritised?
Digitalisation of our society is part of the energy transition. It helps for the data collection, fault detection and preventive maintenance. It also reduces operation work and intervention time. Implementation of those new technologies can also bring energy efficiency.
2000 substations in Stockholm area must be modernised and digitalised in the next 5 years, part of the sustainable future of the electrical infrastructure. OMEXOM and Ellevio are developing a partnership to design and roll-out the digitalisation of those substations, benefitting from a vast experience developed in other European countries (France, Germany…). We launch a master thesis subject to accompany the technical expertise needed.
The task consists in a state of art of the substation digitalisation (in and out of our company network). Study the impact of the data collection to prioritise the measurements.
The student will work with the Business Unit manager and Project managers to assure a deep understanding. Visits on site will help the student’s work. A collaboration with Ellevio will give access to the existing configuration and expected requirements. The student will benefit from the complementary views on the distribution network and might be involved in some design cases.
The master thesis must:
- Realise a state of art of the substation digitalisation
- Prioritise the measurement
- Quantify the benefits
- A design of a digitalised station may be asked
The master thesis can be leading to a possible recruitment and career in the Omexom Network and VINCI Energies group.
